Seville Cathedral and the Alcázar in One Day
Seville Cathedral and the Real Alcázar stand 261 m apart on foot. Opening hours, ticket prices, which to see first, and the tours that do both in one morning.
Yes, both fit in one day, and in one morning with a guide. Seville Cathedral and the Real Alcázar face each other across Plaza del Triunfo: from the Alcázar ticket office to the Cathedral’s Puerta del Lagarto is 261 m on foot. In winter the Alcázar opens at 9:30 and the Cathedral’s visits at 10:45, so the Alcázar first is the order that fits the day, and it is the order of the tour in the calendar below, Crown Tours’ Seville: Priority Access Cathedral, Giralda & Alcázar Tour, from $60 on promotion, usually $77 (checked November 2026).
The tour meets by the Immaculate Conception monument on Plaza del Triunfo, 94 m on foot from the Alcázar ticket office, and takes about 2.5 to 3 hours with a licensed guide and a headset: the Alcázar palace, the Patio de las Doncellas and the gardens, then the Giralda and the Cathedral.

Hours and prices from the Cabildo of Seville Cathedral and the Real Alcázar, checked November 2026. The Cathedral changes its hours by notice for worship; check both sites before a visit.
Children go in free at both with an adult: up to 13 at the Cathedral, under 13 at the Alcázar. At the Alcázar the box office is in the Patio de Banderas, opens at 9:00 and takes cards only, and people born or living in the city of Seville go free. The Cuarto Real Alto, the upper royal rooms, is a separate 5.50 EUR at the Alcázar and is not in any tour price on this site; if you want them, buy that line at the Alcázar.
Which first?
The Cathedral itself sets no order, and neither does the Alcázar. The tours split. Crown Tours, teresa gs and SEVILLA OFFICIAL TOURS start with the Alcázar; the Seville: Alcázar, Cathedral & Giralda Skip-the-Line Tour (Alcázar Seville Tour) starts with the Cathedral and the Giralda and ends in the Alcázar gardens, where you can stay on after the guide leaves, and it may change the order of the monuments on the day.
Doing it alone, the opening times decide. On a winter morning the Alcázar is open from 9:30 and the Cathedral’s visits begin at 10:45, so start at the Alcázar, cross Plaza del Triunfo and enter the Cathedral after it opens to visitors. On a Sunday the Cathedral’s visit begins only at 14:30, which makes it an afternoon. A combined tour buys both entries in one booking, timed to the guide’s route.
The walk between them
From the Alcázar ticket office in the Patio de Banderas to the Cathedral’s Puerta del Lagarto, the gate for online tickets beside the Giralda, is 261 m on foot, under four minutes at a steady walk. The Puerta del Príncipe on the Cathedral’s south side, where the ticket office is, is 268 m from the Lagarto gate round the building. Crown Tours’ meeting point by the Immaculate Conception monument lies between the two monuments: 94 m from the Alcázar office and 174 m from the Lagarto gate.
